End of Life Doula

I am an End of Life Doula, living in St Mullins, Co Carlow and available to work in the South East.

Having previously worked as a Birth and Post Partum doula with Doula Care Ireland, I became aware that it is also possible to have a doula for the end of life and have been studying with the UK based Living Well, Dying Well since 2020.

An End of Life Doula is a non medical companion, a guide and a trusted ally who walks alongside individuals and their families as they face life-limiting or terminal illness.

Services I offer:

Compassionate companionship: a compassionate presence, providing emotional support and companionship to both individuals and their loved ones.

Practical support: including personal care and household and administrative tasks. I can also help organise the support offered by friends and family members.

Legacy work: I can facilitate meaningful conversations and activities which allow individuals to reflect on their life’s journey, leaving behind a legacy of love and wisdom.

Family support: recognising the profound impact that end-of-life care has on families, I offer guidance, resources and a listening ear to ensure that families feel supported. Like the post-partum doula who “mothers the mother”, the end of life doula can “care for the carers”, as well as the dying person.

Advance planning: I can assist in navigating the intricacies of advance care planning, ensuring that your wishes are clearly communicated and respected. Advance planning can also include working on your digital legacy, will and funeral planning.

I volunteer in a hospice and at a Daffodil Centre run by the Irish Cancer Society, and have been garda vetted for these roles.
